I wanna tell you people, it's hard,

And you can't think of nuthin' to write.
Well, just last week
I had a dry spell, so to speak,
Which I did not pull out of till late last night.
I would sit there at the keyboard,
Not a thought in my head,
Gettin' more and more uptight.

Classical music sure can make you blue.
Classical music! Oh, what you put me through.

Well, I was thinkin' about knockin' it off for the evening and goin' down to the local Bierstube for a couple frosties...
When all of a sudden it struck me that somewhere up there in my head there was a million- sellin' hit tune and alls I had to do was write it down.
With this thought I sat myself down at the old Klavier...

And the notes came pourin' forth
From a psychic inner source.
They were fallin' into place
And a great big smile lit up my face.

Mazurkas, alla turcas and Italian funk
Were runnin' through my head as I went plinkity-plunk.
I was playin' on the black notes, playin' on the white,
Wreakin' havoc with the clavichord through most of the night.
And as the day began to dawn,
My voice got hoarse from singin' my hit song.
I had no time for dinner 'cause I knew I had a winner
It was classical, gassical, highly selassical.

Classical music is cool.

Every note I ever wrote is really a jewel.

I took my lead sheets in my hand
And went to find my buddy Max, the Dusseldorf promo man.

Ya see, I wanted a decision form the publishing division,
Whether anybody thought it would sell.
I wanted rental on the parts, a big one on the charts,
'Cause a lotta my sonatas were doin' pretty well.

My name was gettin' known around town
'Cause the kids dug what I was puttin' down.
They knew 'em all by heart:
"Play another one by Mozart!
Gimme some of that Classical, some of that Classical, some of that--

Well, if you're thinkin' of makin' a music career,
I got some advice that you ought to hear.

If you wanna make a pile,
You got to write in the classical style
